Two shot and injured near ‘Price Rite’ in St Andrew
Two men were shot and injured by bike-riding assailants on Chancery Street, in the vicinity of the now rebranded Price Rite supermarket in St Andrew.
According to police reports, at about 7:30 am, two men on a motorcycle opened fire on a man believed to be the target of the attack.
Another man, a passer-by, was also shot and injured. Both men were transported to the Kingston Public Hospital. One of the victims is said to be in serious condition while the other is listed as stable.
Superintendent Shereika Service, head of the St Andrew North Division, explained that the assailants escaped into the neighbouring St Andrew South Police Division.
“We are in discussion with the police in the St Andrew South Division as the attackers abandoned the bike. We seized the bike and it is currently being processed. Based on information received, the shooting is suspected to be gang-related,” she told OBSERVER ONLINE.
