Stocks Roundup: MPC Caribbean up 29% to lead gainsMonday, June 21, 2021
MPC Caribbean clean energy was the biggest winner during trading on the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) on Monday.
The stock climbed 28.91 per cent to close at $145.3 per unit, outshining all other stocks, with no other equity exceeding four per cent in trading gains.
Among the day's biggest losers was Palace Amusement Limited, whose stock slid 15.63 per cent in value to $1,153.40 per unit.
Guardian Holdings slid 13.53 per cent to close at $730.40 per unit.
On the Junior Market, 13 stocks advanced, 16 declined and four traded firm.
On the JSE's Main market 23 stocks advanced, 23 equities declined and six traded firm.
TransJamaican Hight Limited led trading volumes with 1,569,916 units, amounting to 15.73 per cent of the market volume, followed by Wigton Wind Farm with 1,378,990 units, amounting to 13.82 per cent of the market volume; and Mayberry Investments with 952,369 units, amounting to 9.54 per cent of the market volume.
The Jamaican dollar Market Volume (excluding blocks) amounted to 9,979,151 units valued at $76,724,528.99.
The US dollar Market Volume (excluding blocks) amounted to 303,164 units valued at $6,113.41.
