Teenage girl held with firearm in bag

ST CATHERINE, Jamaica — A teenage girl was taken into custody by officers assigned to the St Catherine North Police Division in relation to a firearm seizure on Wellington Street, Spanish Town, St Catherine last night.

Reports are that about 11:50 pm, lawmen were in the area when the teenager aroused their suspicions.

She was accosted, searched and a Browning 9mm was found in a bag she was carrying.

She was subsequently taken into custody; however, her identity is being withheld pending investigations.
