Royal Flat red-carpet welcome
Royal Flat Basic School students stand on the red carpet to have pictures taken.

Dear Editor,

Scores of children and parents turned out for school on the first day of the new school year at the Royal Flat Basic School in Manchester.

The children were welcomed by staff as they walked the red carpet in fine style. New children were welcomed just the same, though some seemed very tearful as they departed from their parents for the first time.

The principal and her staff continue to make a difference in the Royal Flat community, one child at a time.
