Transport crisis
Dear Editor,
It is often said that any country that does not have a proper transport system cannot grow.
The implications of this was played out recently with the strike by the route taxis and buses. They are unruly and a law unto themselves.
Why can’t the private sector organisations try to partner with the Government to have the bus system running efficiently as the Government cannot do everything. Not only that, for some time now there has been much talk about bringing back the train service. It is full time that the private sector stops publishing their financial statements showing their profits and assist with organising an effecient transportation system as they have employees who depend on same to move from point A to point B as not all of them are able to own a vehicle for themselves.
The country’s commuters cannot continue to be at the mercy of these lawless individuals.
