Digicel offers free calls with new promotionThursday, April 23, 2015
MOBILE provider Digicel Jamaica is today launching what it describes as a ground-breaking new offer known as Digicel Zero that will see customers getting all calls on its network free with the purchase of a three-day data plan.
"We're in the business of keeping our customers happy, and with Digicel Zero we are doing just that," a company release quotes new CEO David Butler. "With over one million of our customers already accessing Digicel data plans, we know how much they love to stream, surf and share on Jamaica's biggest and best 4G network."
Added Butler: "Our customers told us they wanted cheaper calls and more data; Digicel Zero is giving them more of what they want, ensuring their credit is used only for data by making all Digicel-to-Digicel calls completely free."
Describing the offer as the simplest and most attractive ever launched in Digicel Jamaica's 14-year history, the company said Digicel Zero also includes free Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Wikipedia, and Twitter, meaning customers can use every last megabyte as part of the three-day data plan to access the websites and the content they love.
"We have invested hugely in our network, upgrading more than 180 sites to 4G over the last year, just so we can deliver on our customers' growing appetite for data," Butler said. "And, we're not stopping there. We're investing a great deal more in expanding our data network over the next 12 months, reinforcing our position as the champion of mobile data in Jamaica, and our commitment to making it accessible to absolutely everyone. By making Digicel calls completely free, we are putting our money where our mouth is."
Digicel said it is marking the launch with discount deals of more than 50 per cent on select handsets.
