Teen accused of killing brother to see shrink
MANDEVILLE, Manchester — A teen girl accused of participating in the murder of her brother is to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
When the matter came up for mention in the Mandeville Resident Magistrate’s Court yesterday, Queen’s Counsel Velma Hilton, who is represented the 19 year old, told presiding judge Colleymore Gordon that she wished to see a full copy of the teen’s file and asked that a psychiatric evaluation be done before the next court date.
The girl — Deneisha Gregory — and her boyfriend Kayode Garwood 22, are charged with the murder of Gregory’s 11-year old brother Tareek Gregory.
They were both remanded in custody until October 12 .
Gregory and Garwood, both unemployed, are from New Hall District in Manchester.
Garwood appeared without representation.
Tareek, a student of Harmons Primary, was found with his throat slashed and stab wounds to his face and side at his family home in South Manchester. The killing reportedly took place between the hours of 4:50 and 6:45 pm on Monday September 12.
After being designated as a person of interest in relation to the murder of her brother, Deneisha Gregory was picked up in the company of Garwood in Spanish Town last week.
