Criminals want to have a merry Christmas too!
Everyone wants to have a merry Christmas, even the criminals who prey upon their fellow Jamaicans like parasites. That’s one of the reasons I’m for the declaration of the states of public emergency, at least for the holiday season. Will the Opposition be kind enough to lend their support? Mr Mark Golding should lead on this one, not Mr Peter Bunting.
Gun amnesty not going so well
The most recent report says only 20 guns have been received by the authorities in the ongoing gun amnesty. With the plethora of guns in our beloved little country, 20 seems a far cry from what should be. Moreover, many of the guns turned in were not illegal, but some which were just idling at home or handed down from one person to another without the permit being renewed.
What’s the latest with babies dying at Jubilee Hospital?
Health Minister Dr Christopher Tufton is perhaps busy fending off criticisms and demonstrations against him, but mothers still need to know what is the latest on the recent spate of deaths of babies at Victoria Jubilee Hospital. We were told that the deaths were due to infections, but has the problem been fixed, or should we expect to hear about another spate? That shouldn’t be allowed to be a nine-day wonder.
Kicking a manager upstairs not a good idea
She campaigned hard for the position but now that she has got it, she is already showing that not everyone is meant to be a leader. In one month in the new job she has had altercations with five members of her staff and embarrassed the HR department who couldn’t defend her actions. Staff members are saying that she is carrying out a personal vendetta. Pity.
