Bolt to carry Jamaican flag
LONDON, England — Global sprint star Usain Bolt will carry the Jamaican flag at tomorrow night’s Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games, the Jamaica Observer was reliably informed earlier today.
Speculations have been rife as to which athlete would get the signal honour to lead the team into the Games.
The impeccable source told the Observer minutes before the start of an official Jamaica Olympic Association/Puma press conference here.
Jamaica will be represented in four sporting events here — athletics, swimming, Taekwondo and eventing (horse trials).
Fifty athletes were selected to represent Jamaica in the Games that will end on August 12.
