Jamaica has risen to 17th in the latest medal table with the men’s sweep of the 200m earlier today. The island now has three gold, three silver and three bronze medals.

The tally has been taken over by the United States which surpassed China in both the number and quality of medals. The US has 39 gold medals, 90 total while China has 37 gold, 80 total.

Great Britain, the Russian Federation and South Korea complete the top five nations.
