Broken Plate co-principals Chef Damion “Stewie” Stewart and Kwasi Henry recently celebrated the restaurant’s fourth anniversary, a milestone made even sweeter because the establishment not only survived but thrived during the novel coronavirus pandemic. The latter is certainly the case for the Barbican Road eatery, thanks to the hard work and determination of Stewart and Henry — who opened at their previous Munroe Road location in May 2018 — and their dedicated staff.
Spirits were high at the private event that boasted a guest list of Broken Plate faithfuls, friends, and family, as the well-wishers raised copious Aperol Spritz toasts to four successful years and many more to come. “We want to thank everyone for coming out. This is our fourth year, and we wanted to ensure that we do something for our regulars,” explained Stewart.
