BY KEVIN JACKSON
It has been four years since singjay Bramma released his EP, One A Day. He plans to put out his first album, Rugged & Deadly, soon.
The project, according to Bramma, will comprise songs that stand the test of time.
“I am getting older now and that hardcore dancehall is all good but I want to do more music that has longevity and messages that can educate and uplift the youths, which will improve the society on a whole. How would it look to see me as an artiste in my senior years performing this derogatory music for the kids?” Bramma asked. “I will still do music for the streets but that type of music is not appropriate for all audiences and my ultimate aim aside from being successful is to be a well-rounded entertainer.”
Rugged & Deadly has 14 songs including collaborations with Luciano, Anthony B, Stephen McGregor, Morgan Heritage and I-Octane. It is executive produced by Riddim Force Records, with DJ Nicco, DJ Smurf, GGOD Records and Touch Point among the producers.
The lead single from Rugged & Deadly is Belly of The Beast.
To promote the album, Bramma is scheduled to embark on a series of spot dates on the United States East Coast, starting November 21 in South Carolina.
Bramma, whose given name is Lloyd Brammer, is known for hit songs such as Heading to The Top, Nuh Trust People and Wah Gwaan Mi Darlin.
