Catherine Hall target third-consecutive win in U-13 football
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Catherine Hall Primary will be seeking to be the first team to win their first three games in the St James Football Association Under-13 competition when they take on MoBay Prep in Zone D at Corinaldi Avenue Primary.
Catherine Hall Primary and Corinaldi Avenue have won their first two games, and are tied on six points in the lead, while MoBay Prep lost their only game played so far.
In the other game today, southern St James neighbours Somerton Primary and Dumfries will meet as both teams will seek their first points.
Somerton Primary will hope to rebound from their big 20-0 loss to Corinaldi Avenue Primary last week and have lost two games; Dumfries had lost their only game played.
On Monday, former champions Howard Cooke rebounded from their opening game loss to beat St James Prep 2-1 at Corinaldi Avenue while Barrett Town and Maldon Primary played out a 2-2 draw to get their first points.
After a goalless first half, Dwantae Shaw in the 40th minute and Carson Cunningham in the 43rd minute gave Howard Cooke the lead while Antoine Rowe scored for St James Prep in the 55th minute.
Rohan Dowe scored a free kick from the edge of the Barrett Town box on the stroke of full time to salvage a point for Maldon in their draw.
Jevaughnie Robinson gave Barrett Town the lead in the 35th minute but Ryan Campbell pulled Maldon level in the 39th minute.
Barrett Town reclaimed the lead in the 57th minute through an own goal, but Dowe’s free kick that lodged into the top right-hand corner of the goal ensured a point for Maldon Primary.
