Cool brew Red Stripe brings good vibes to World Cup watch parties
AS billions worldwide tune in to watch the “greatest show on earth”, local beer brand Red Stripe has announced plans to bring the good vibes for Jamaican fans who will attend the official watch parties of the 2022 Fifa World Cup.
Red Stripe is a sponsor of all the watch parties which will be staged throughout the tournament at ‘Fan Central’, the official fan hub at the headquarters of the Girl Guides Association of Jamaica, in St Andrew.
“We live for these moments. The opportunity to connect with our consumers for this beautiful game was too important to pass up. When it comes to sports and music, Red Stripe has always been supportive,” said Red Stripe Brand Manager Nathan Nelms. “Red Stripe has sponsored almost every sport in Jamaica over the last eight decades and we are so excited to be in the space so that football fans in Jamaica can enjoy the matches that so many of them have been anxiously awaiting.”
Fan Central promises to provide the perfect atmosphere for football lovers to watch the live matches while enjoying food and drink, half-time entertainment, and other engaging activities that will heighten the overall experience. It will be open daily from 4:30 am to 7 pm and will feature super-sized screens, lounge and VIP areas, and multiple bars.
As an official broadcast sponsor for the much-anticipated matches, Red Stripe’s bar and VIP lounge at Fan Central will offer football lovers the opportunity to participate in exciting activities, win prizes, and enjoy ice-cold beer as they watch the games. Known for its engaging consumer activations, the brand will amplify its activities on two designated days that will be announced.
This time around, 32 nations will compete in 64 matches to be crowned the best team in the world. Though Jamaica’s Reggae Boyz will not participate this year, teams among the most popular Jamaican fan favourites include Brazil, England, Belgium, Germany, France, and Argentina.
It’s anticipated that more than a million tourists will be drawn to Qatar for the tournament, which is the smallest country to ever host the World Cup. The Red Stripe brand manager said Jamaicans will not be left out of the excitement.
“You can definitely feel the anticipation building. I know for sure that the experience will be out of this world at Fan Central, and our football fans will be pleased to share memorable moments with their friends and others who love the sport. We’ll be here bringing people together and ensuring that our consumers have fun, but that they do so responsibly.”
