How about the officiating in Qatar?
Trishana McGowan (CVM TV World Cup host)
I think that there are still inconsistencies and despite having VAR, some of the calls aren’t making much sense, but they are human and they can’t be perfect in officiating. I do believe it’s not as bad as I would have expected after watching the domestic leagues, but I think the referees can do better, and hopefully, some of the calls that we are seeing do not go over into the round of 16.
Warren Barrett (Former Reggae Boyz captain)
The refereeing has been of a consistently high standard. The calls on infringements have been on point for the most part and I am especially pleased with the additional minutes at the end of regulation time for teams that are trying to waste time.
Andrew Price (Coach and analyst)
The refereeing has been fair. In my opinion, the referees and VAR system seem to be working in sync. All the referrals have been correct and the technology is working.
