Ravel Morrison is the best in Concacaf, raves Coach Hall
According to Jamaica’s Head Coach Paul Hall, former Manchester United player Ravel Morrison is the best in Concacaf.
With a number of world-class players, playing for countries in the region, it is a bold statement to make, but the Reggae Boyz head coach is convinced that on his day, Morrison is untouchable.
The attacking midfielder scored a wonderful free kick to give Jamaica a 1-0 lead against Suriname in their return-leg Nations League match at the National Stadium in Kingston last Tuesday, getting the ball up and over the wall and then down into the back of the net with whip and swerve.
It was truly world-class free kick of the highest standards. It would prove to be the catalyst for a 3-1 win for Jamaica who had drawn with Suriname in Suriname three days before.
“He can do unbelievable things with the ball, so it is really key that we have Ravel Morrison in the team and there are other world-class players around the team.
“Ravel is very, very different in what he does. He does the unexpected. He put the free kick and I just knew that he would.
“I said he’s got this and it’s in the net, because he does this in training every single day. So, I’m glad to have him because I wouldn’t want for him to be playing against me, so we’re happy with that.”
Hall thinks the other players in the squad understand the quality that Morrison brings to the table and believes that on his day, Morrison is simply unplayable.
“When you’ve got Ravel Morrison on your team you’ve got a world class player and those boys understand that they have to work hard for that world-class player.
“When that world-class player is playing well and working hard at the same time, he is the best player in Concacaf! Absolute best player, hands down,” Hall raved.
Jamaica will next face Mexico in their third game of the round in the Concacaf Nations League on Tuesday and Morrison could just be the key to victory at the “Office”.
