Here's the reality: We are still adjusting to the new norm! It's a daily pivot. Anxiety is high, and uncertainty hovers around us. Self care is now more than ever a daily must. Top of mind at Tuesday Style Dryer ( TSD ) is flawless skin and fabulous hair!
Entrepreneur-cum-attorney-at-law Shantelle Francis concurs and has carved out space in the super-competitive hair and skincare industry.
Spotlighted in the recent Jamaica Observer webinar series, The Future... is Ours, Francis continues the conversation, sharing her desire to solve a long-standing problem in the beauty industry and too, the inspiration for Maureen's Naturals — a line of natural and organic hair and skincare products named after her mother.
“I have been natural for about two years now, and it has just been amazing to see how my hair has significantly grown within that time,” she informs. “Throughout my natural hair journey, having conversations with and observing black men and women, the realisation soon hit that many do not know how to care for their natural hair... Most women, for example, want long, thick, healthy natural hair, but very few actually know how to achieve this or know how to get there,” she adds.
These days you'd be hard-pressed to find a woman in your circle who isn't on the natural hair kick, and Francis believes her products can help. Her focus? A healthy scalp. “The best way to achieve the hair I want is by taking care of my scalp, because a healthy scalp means healthy hair. After your hair is healthy, you can start to focus on length retention and thickness,” she stresses. Her secret weapon is Hair Growth Oil, which she describes as magic in a bottle.
Whether your hair is super fine and in need of a voluminous boost, or as thick as a lion's mane and needs to be tamed, Maureen's Naturals has got you covered!
And the beauty line does not skimp on skincare. The shea, cocoa and mango butter-enriched body butter, inspired by her mother's fool-proof formula for fading marks and scars, is a nourishing moisturiser for dry skin and is also great for achieving flawless skin.
The online-based store offers more products while the brand's Instagram page provides daily motivation to be your best self while maintaining healthy skin and hair.
