Vows: Our Perfect LoveTuesday, March 30, 2021
It was love at first sight for Durval Davidson when a taxi pulled up in front of him with Theressa Williams seated at the front. “Her beauty and dimples swept me away,” he explained. Not only was he dazzled, but he was also left speechless. “I got in the taxi and couldn't even find the words to engage her in a conversation,” he said. Thankfully, they were both headed in the same direction. “From the taxi we both got on the Duhaney Park bus. I took the seat beside her and found the courage to introduce myself and ask for her name.” He would leave with her correct telephone number but the w rong name!
A few dates later he would learn her real name. There'd be no further deception. Their friendship grew into love, and an engagement then exchange of vows on Saturday, March 13, in a garden setting at the Ibis Gazebo, Hope Gardens.
Theressa chose a Soshanna Henry-designed illusion mermaid gown for her special day, and Calum Scott's You Are The Reason to make her entrance on the arm of her uncle Wilburn Dixon. Her bridegroom's full-white tailored ensemble proved the perfect complement.
Reverend Dwight Dwayne Dawkins was the officiant.
The reception, hosted later under an all-white gazebo, was described by the newly-weds as excellent, despite COVID-19 and its protocols.
Pollyanna Caterers laid out a scrumptious fare.
“Our first dance as husband and wife was to Thinking Out Loudby Ed Sheeran,” shared Theressa. Speeches followed the cutting of the wedding cake baked by Cosmina Dixon and designed by Jennifer Scales.
The newly-weds honeymooned at Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay.
