Vows: Secure in LoveTuesday, June 08, 2021
Stephen McKenley, SCM Security Systems principal, and South East Regional Health Authority medical doctor Joni Anderson know two things well: The nature of being on call, and the immediate response to an emergency. A surprise security installation at the behest of Joni's dad in 2019 was the trigger that would lead to an engagement a year later, and a year after to the Holy Cross Catholic Church where they exchanged wedding vows on Saturday, March 20.
Here's the icing on the cake: The two, who literally lived two minutes away from each other, had never before met.
For her walk up the aisle, signalled by the melodic notes of I Choose You by Ryann Darling, Joni opted for a Maggie Sottero ballgown that featured a sweetheart neckline courtesy of Bliss Bridal. She was escorted to her bridegroom by her doting parents Leon and Paula Anderson.
In a fairy-tale setting dotted with hues of turquoise, blue, fuchsia and purple created by wedding planner and décor specialist Tracey Hamilton and Associates and, guided by the Reverend Father Arokiadas Arumainathan, Stephen and Jodi declared their undying love and commitment to each other.
Guests reconvened by the poolside of the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel where they enjoyed signature cocktails and hors d'oeuvres ahead of taking their seats inside the pavilion to welcome members of the bridal party and the newly-weds. Dr Danielle Smellie's professional handling of MC duties saw guests dining on a sumptious meal executed by the hotel's award-winning food and beverage team. There were speeches too, as well as the cutting of the four-tiered red velvet cake by Selena Wong and the newly-weds' first dance as husband and wife to Christina Perri's A Thousand Years.
Mr & Mrs Stephen McKenley later enjoyed stays at Breathless Montego Bay Resort & Spa, Royalton Negril Resort & Spa, and Couples Sans Souci.
