Two games involving teams with perfect records to highlight D’Cup matches

ST JAMES, Jamaica – Two games featuring teams with perfect win records facing off against each other will highlight Friday’s round of 30 games as the ISSA daCosta Cup football competition continues.

Manning’s School will face Petersfield High in Zone C while William Knibb Memorial will host Cedric Titus in Zone D, all four on nine points from three consecutive victories.

Meanwhile, another five schools will be defending perfect win records- Manchester High and Christiana High will be going after a fifth straight win, while defending champions Garvey Maceo, Glenmuir High and McGrath High will be eyeing their fourth successive victories.

Petersfield High are returning to the competition after missing last season but have not beaten Manning’s School in their last four meetings dating back to the 2022 season.

Manning’s School are off to a blazing fast start under new coach Michael Graham, scoring 22 goals in their three games, including 12 in one game against Lewisville High and are yet to concede a goal.

Petersfield High on the other hand have scored just five goals, conceding one but have managed to get full points from their three games played so far.

In Zone D, William Knibb Memorial, who trail in the points table on goal-difference, will be seeking a third straight win over the Clark’s Town- based school after winning both games between the two teams last season.

Cedric Titus are off to a better start, scoring 12 goals in their three games, double the six that William Knibb Memorial have scored and will hope to continue their winning run.

Manchester High have run rough-shod in Zone F so far, amassing 25 goals in their four games and have yet to be breached and will be home to Mt St Joseph Catholic High who are still seeking their first win.

Jevohntae Gordon has scored hat-tricks in Manchester High’s last two games and no doubt he will be on the hunt for another one against a team that has conceded 12 goals so far.

Christiana High could take over sole leadership of Zone G, at least for 24 hours, when they play Mile Gully High at Kirkvine with Alphansus Davis High, who are also on 12 points, playing a day later.

Mile Gully who have lost just once to Christiana High in the previous two seasons, are coming off back- to-back 1-0 losses after picking up four points from their first two games.

After having to come from behind to beat Denbigh High on Tuesday, defending champions Garvey Maceo will hope to have things easier against Bustamante High, winners of one of their three games played so far and have conceded 16 goals.

Glenmuir High will be at home to Vere Technical who they spanked 7-0 last season and have scored 20 goals so far.

McGrath High, who have played in back- to- back finals the last two seasons, will face Dinthill Technical, potentially their biggest challenge in the zone.

McGrath High have scored 16 goals and are yet to concede any, while Dinthill Technical have scored 11 in their two wins.

Longtime rival Munro College and St Elizabeth Technical High (STETHS) will meet in the second game of a double- header at the STETHS Sports Complex.

Cornwall College are also yet to concede a goal after four games and will be away to Herbert Morrison Technical who they beat 4-1 on both occasions when they met last season.

Maldon High will host Green Pond High who are coming off their first win.

Frome Technical will host Knockalva Technical and hope to rebound from their loss to Rusea’s High in a game that was played over two days because of poor weather.

Frome Technical have earned just a point from their last two games after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Cambridge High before going down to Rusea’s in Lucea.
