Mt Pleasant take 5-1 lead in Caribbean Cup semis
Jamaica’s Mt Pleasant FA have taken a massive four goals lead over Trinidad and Tobago’s Defence Force FC after winning 5-1 in their first leg Concacaf Caribbean Cup semi-finals played at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago on Wednesday.
Raheem Edwards scored a double for Mt Pleasant FA who led 2-0 at half time but gave up their first goal of the competition when Kaihim Thomas scored in the eighth minute of time added in the second half.
Warner Brown made a return to competitive action, scoring the first goal in the fifth minute before Edwards doubled the advantage in the 15th minute.
Edwards added a third, his second in the 57th minute, on an assist from Brown while Shaqueil Bradford scored in the 85th minute and Kimoni Bailey scored the fifth three minutes into time added.
It was the first meeting of the teams in an international competition, both in the semi-finals for the first time and they will meet again in the return leg next week in Kingston.
