Smith appointed to BNS board
Evelyn Smith, a tourism professional, joined the board of directors at the Bank of Nova Scotia last month.
Smith currently manages the Tensing Pen Hotel in Negril and has been actively involved in the tourism industry since the late 1980s.
She is the immediate past president of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association and serves on the board of the Jamaica Tourist Board, the Tourism Enhancement Fund and the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association as well as on the Advisory Council of the Passport Immigration and Citizen Agency (PICA), according to a release from BNS.
Smith attended Wellesley College in Massachusetts, in the United States where she majored in French and Spanish, and holds an MBA from Nova Southeastern University.
She was the recipient of the JHTA Hotelier of the Year award in 2008 and in 2013 was awarded the Prime Minister’s Medal of Appreciation for Service to Tourism.
