Guatemala undertakes photovoltaic solar panels project
GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala – A worker walks alongside rows of solar panels at the Horus photovoltaic power station in Chiquimulilla on Tuesday, February 3, 2015.
Thousands of photovoltaic solar panels were installed at the new plant and will have a useful life of 25 years, according to the Onyx Group, owners and builders of the power station.
The Horus plant project envisages a second phase to complete 90 MW of installed capacity. The facility is to sell energy under a longterm contract with local power distributors beginning May. (PHOTO: AP)
