In a statement today the police said that their appeal came as security forces are about to “embark on another phase of their offensive on the crime monster”.
Police might be hoping that criminals to turn themselves in under the current circumstances. A smilier appeal was made after security forces responded strongly to coordinated attacks on police by taking control of Tivoli Gardens last week.
Among the alleged gang members who turned themselves in then, several turned up at police stations reportedly shaken by what had transpired after the State of Emergency was called on Sunday May 23.
