Residents want increased police presence in Molynes Road area
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Residents are making an appeal for police to increase their presence in sections of the Molynes Road area especially around Tarrant High School.
Residents claim that in recent months the area where the school is located has been overrun by criminals.
“Criminals have now taken over the area, students at the school are now being attacked on a regular basis as a result we are calling out for help,” one school official told OBSERVER ONLINE, but asked not to be named out of fear.
The school official said in the past two days criminals have carried out at least three sets of attacks against students at the school.
The latest took place on Thursday when a student was held up at knife point and her phone stolen.
A day later, the source report that criminals opened fire in the vicinity of the educational institution.
