YOUTH LINK UP DANCE
The Western Dance Championship originally scheduled for December 15, at AquaSol in Montego Bay, will now be held tonight at the same venue. The championship will put the Goofy Brothers against the Chemical Boys, Fresh Boys, and D-14 among others.
The winner from the contest will receive a cash prize of $10,000 and a trophy. Other prizes will be awarded to the runners-up.
The popular INXS disco will provide music while guest deejays include Carson, Pinchers and Lippo.
The fun starts at 8:00 pm.
Since its inception last September, Youth Link Up, which is geared towards the young people, has been getting rave reviews and good attendance.
SATURDAY NIGHT VIBES PARTY CONTINUES, TONIGHT
The regular Saturday Night Vibes Party continues tonight at the Brewery, Montego Bay with the Mad Squad Disco.
“Since the inception of the promotion last September, the parties have been going very well,” assistant manager at the Brewery, Colin Scarlett, told Entertainment Out West.
He added that the Brewery has brought to Montego Bay a wide variety of entertainment to the area over the last few months and pledged that “2002 will be even better”.
REBEL SALUTE 2002, for PORT KAISER
Rebel Salute 2002 takes place at the Port Kaiser Sports Club in St Elizabeth on Saturday, January 12.
A host of artistes are scheduled to perform at the show, in what is expected to be the biggest reggae event to be staged in that part of the island for the year.
The line up of artistes include Tony Rebel, Luciano, Capleton, Jr Reid, Sizzla, Marcia Griffiths, Sugar Minott, Leroy Sibbles, Culture, Richie Stephens, Abijah, Lukie D, Natural Black, Swade and Lady G.
Backing bands will be Gumption and CO2, while Sound Wave disco will add flavour to the show.
Emcees are Barry Gordon, Jenni Jenni, and Mutabaruka.
The show begins at 9:00 pm and admission is $700.
ANNUAL FAMILY & FRIENDS DAY at St VINCENT CHURCH
The annual Family and Friends Day at the St Vincent New Testament Church in Trelawny, takes place at the Church Hall on Sunday, January 13. The event begins at 9:30 am and ends at 5:00 pm.
Highlights of the day include choir ministry, dance and music.
According to Pastor Sonia Seivwright, visitors will also get an opportunity to meet dedicated members of the church who have served and worshipped there for over 30 years.
