Cabinet approves new boards for NWC, NHDC
CABINET has approved the appointment of members of two new Board of Directors for the National Water Commission (NWC) and the National Housing Development Corporation (NHDC), Information Minister Burchell Whiteman told reporters Tuesday.
The new board of the NWC will be chaired by Richard Byles, head of the Pan Jam Group. Other members include James Morrison, a chartered accountant; Basil Fernandez, managing director of the Water Resources Authority; Dr John Brown from Black River; Bevon Morrison, Call Associates Ltd; Keith Goodison, industrial relations consultant; Winston Watson, managing director of Petrojam Ltd; Jean Blackstock, human resource director at Digicel; and Genefa Hibbert, permanent secretary in the Ministry of Water and Housing.
The new 14-member board of the NHDC is to be chaired by Norman McDonald, chairman of Allied Business Consultants. Other members are: Milverton Reynolds, managing director; Michael Buchanan, ex-company secretary at Dyoll Insurance; Kemel Allen, banker; Maureen Webber, physical/economic planner; Owen Glaves, systems specialist with Jamaica Producers; Hopeton McCatty, IT specialist; Roderick Heaven, businessman; Earl Samuels, managing director of the National Housing Trust; Garfield Knight, an engineer; Manley Nicholson, attorney-at-law; W A Blair, pastor; Genefa Hibbert, permanent secretary; and Supt Michael James, president of the Pines of Karachi Provident Society.
