$20 M facelift for Pier One
Pier One, the Montego Bay entertainment spot that was partially destroyed by Hurricane Michelle in November 2001, was recently reopened after a $20 million dollar facelift.
The tab was covered by a combination of insurance, as well as an injection of private funding from operators.
“Pier One is up and running,” said promotions and entertainment manager, Robert Henry. “It has the best view in Jamaica, better than Negril.”
The seaside facility now has an air-conditioned interior with a marine motif.
Even when refurbishing work was being done on the restaurant over the last two years, it remained a popular venue for live shows.
Its once weekly Wednesday night show has now been expanded to include Tuesday and Sunday night shows and the deck bar has also been extended.
