Westmoreland woman chopped to death
LITTLE LONDON Westmoreland — Up to press time, the Little London police still had no leads in Thursday’s violent slaying of Violet McFarlane, 39, who was chopped to death, allegedly by an intruder whom she tried to escape by fleeing her home.
Cops discovered the bar operator’s wounded body along the community’s main road.
Reports are that McFarlane was at home early Thursday morning when she heard what appeared to be someone trying to force his way through the rear door of her house. She reportedly called a friend to inform her of the situation before trying to escape.
But she only got as far as 50 metres from her home.
Her attacker inflicted wounds to her neck, shoulder, back and right wrist. She was taken to the Savanna-la-mar hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police investigations continue.
