PNP’s policy review commission to discuss impact of globalisation
The policy review commission of the ruling Peoples’ National Party will tomorrow discuss the implications of globalisation and explore strategies that could prepare the private and public sector to meet the challenges and opportunities of a free market system.
The discussion, which is being held under the theme “Transforming Jamaica’s Economy to Meet Global Opportunities and Challenges”, will be held at the PCJ Auditorium in Kingston.
The PNP Policy Review Commission recently prepared a paper entitled Trade Dimensions of Globalisation and its Implications for Economic Transformation. The paper will be presented and discussed at the forum by Dr Rosalea Hamilton, foreign trade specialist; Dr Richard Bernal of the Caribbean Regional Negotiating Machinery; Dr Lloyd Goodleigh, Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions; and James Moss-Solomon, Grace, Kennedy and Company Limited.
Professor Trevor Munroe, a member of the commission; Richard Byles, chairman, National Water Commission; Audrey Marks, Paymaster; Peter Melhado and Johny McFarlene are also will also be participating in the discussions.
