Three arrested for counterfeit US currency
WESTERN BUREAU – Three men were arrested by the police in Negril, Westmoreland, Monday after counterfeit US currency was allegedly found in their position.
Arrested and charged with illegal possession of counterfeit notes are:
. Michael Gaynor, a 31 year-old club operator of 101 West 24th Street, Wellington, Delaware, New York and Sea Crest, Discovery Bay, St Ann;
. Robert Miller, a 29 year-old builder of 290 Downwell Close, London, England; and
. Conrad Anderson, 29, a taxi operator of Falmouth, Trelawny.
According to the police, a roadblock was mounted along the Whitehall Main Road, Negril, Westmoreland between the hours of 3:00 pm and 4:30 pm when a white Toyota Corolla motor car, registered 7081DX, was stopped and searched.
A total of 17 counterfeit US$100 notes were allegedly found in the car.
The three men who were occupants of the car were subsequently arrested and charged.
