Coffee, anyone?
Managed to be at the right place at the right time at Island Village, Ocho Rios when Blue Running’s co-owner, Catherine Kendall, offered a cappuccino taste test of a new blend of dark roasted coffee that the “Coffee Bar, Jerk and Works” restaurant had under consideration for their menu.
The cappuccino came on the heels of a lunch which consisted of grilled salmon sandwich with cheese on multi-grain bread with a severe side of corn tortillas, fresh watermelon juice and a Boston Cream Pie dessert.
An innovative combination, but delicious and typical verandah restaurant that must offer something for everyone: the Shaw Park ladies who lunch; the vegetarian creative types; and the movers and shakers who want a good meal in a relaxed atmosphere.
Verdict on the cappuccino? Excellent. The entertainment, which currently consists of watching a duck move her ducklings to a safer spot amidst the flora, fauna and natural spring lagoon, should liven up, however, come October.
