St Mary, Portland roads blocked
HEAVY rainfall in St Mary and Portland over the past two days have left several roads blocked, reducing traffic to single lane flow, the National Works Agency (NWA) has advised.
The blockages are from fallen rocks, trees and landslips.
The affected roadways in St Mary are:
. Highgate to Windsor Castle;
. Chovey to Claremont;
. Scott’s Hall to Mount Rose; and
. Tavern Hill to Halifax Bridge.
And in Portland, the Buff Bay to Hardware Gap main road is blocked by a large boulder between mile posts 25 and 26.
NWA personnel are now working to have these roadways fully cleared in the shortest possible time, said a release from the road agency.
