Halse Hall vendor dies
Thirty-six year-old Halse Hall vendor Paulette Powell died in the May Pen Hospital Saturday from gunshot wounds she received on January 3 at Halse Hall, Clarendon.
According to the police, Powell was shot several times at about 7:30 pm by a man while she was walking along the Halse Hall main road.
The May Pen CIB is investigating.
Man stabbed to death
Damion Dixon, otherwise called “Gifted”, was stabbed to death along Harpist Avenue, Caymanas Gardens in St Catherine yesterday at approximately 2:30 am.
Police report that Dixon, 20, who lived at Cottage Drive, Gregory Park, St Catherine, was riding a bicycle along Harpist Avenue when he was attacked by a man armed with a knife who stabbed him several times. He was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The St Catherine South Homicide Unit is investigating.
Greater Portmore man shot dead
Andre Wilson, 22, of Greater Portmore, St Catherine was shot dead by a gunman at Reids Pen, Portmore yesterday morning, the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) reported.
Nelson, the CCN said, was walking along the Reids Pen main road when he was pounced upon by a man armed with a gun at about 1:30 am.
Police took Wilson to the Spanish Town Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The St Catherine South Homicide Unit is investigating.
St James man electrocuted
A 45 year-old St James man was electrocuted in Barrett Hall on Saturday while he attempted to make an illegal connection to a Jamaica Public Service supply line.
The police, who identified the dead man as Frank Thorpe, said the incident occurred some time after 7:00 am. He was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Barrett Town police in the parish are investigating.
Tivoli Gardens resident

Pete Brown, 37, of Zackie Avenue, Tivoli Gardens, Kingston was shot dead by gunmen at North Parade, downtown Kingston Saturday night. Police report that at about 9:05 Brown was riding a bicycle along King Street when he was approached by armed men who shot him. He died on the spot.
The Kingston Central CIB Unit is investigating.
Murder on Drumblair Crescent
The Constant Spring Police are investigating the shooting death of 26 year-old Tyrone Broomfield at his gate at Drumblair Crescent, Kingston 8 Saturday night.
According to the CCN, at about 9:30, Broomfield alighted from a car at his gate when another motor car drove up beside him. A passenger in the vehicle shot Broomfield, killing him on the spot. The police were summoned and the body removed to the morgue for post-mortem.
