Three suspects held in exotic dancer murder probe
WESTERN BUREAU – Up to late last night Montego Bay detectives were still interrogating three suspects in connection with Sunday night’s murder of 28 year-old exotic dancer Angeline Ramsay, during a shooting spree in Copperwood, St James.
Five other persons were also shot during the attack.
The three suspects – two women and a man – were held during a pre-dawn raid carried out Wednesday in York Bush, between the hours of 5:30 am and 7:30 am, said Constabulary Communication Network liaison officer Constable Pete Salkey.
During the operation, a shop and house were searched and three persons believed to be involved in Sunday night’s incident held, said Salkey.
The police also reported that they seized a quantity of packaged ganja, as well as items used to process drugs, and bottles containing liquid substances labelled as ‘oils’.
Some of the liquid contents of the bottles, Salkey said, were labelled: runaway oil; crown oil; money drawing oil; compellance oil; musk oil; away evil oil; black room spray; and ‘John the Conqueror’ spray.
The murder suspects were charged for the ganja under the Dangerous Drugs Act. They were also cited for electricity theft, as an illegal connection to the Jamaica Public Service power line was discovered.
Their names are being withheld, the police said, pending further investigations into the dancer’s murder.
