Spanish Town gunshot victim dies in hospital
RICHARD Clarke, 25, died in the Spanish Town Hospital on Friday after being shot by unknown assailant(s) on Old Road in Thompson Pen, St Catherine last Thursday.
The police reported that at about 3:30 pm last Thursday, Clarke was riding a bicycle along Old Road when explosions were heard. It was subsequently discovered that he had been shot. He was taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where he died about 6:30 Friday evening.
Man stabbed to death in Kingston
NICHOLAS Haye, 22, of West Street, Central Kingston was stabbed to death during a dispute with another man on West Queen Street in downtown Kingston Friday night.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) reported that at about 8:30 pm Haye was involved in a dispute with another man during which a knife was used to stab him. He was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Student murdered
A man is now in police custody following the fatal stabbing of a student in Golden Grove, St Thomas, on Friday night.
The student, Devin Douglas, a student of St Thomas Technical High, resided at Johns Town. The police subsequently held and charged with murder Kevin Sterling, 21, of Lyssons district, both in St Thomas.
Douglas, the police reported, was at a party at the school when a dispute developed between him and a group of men. He was subsequently attacked by the men who used knives to stab him several times. He was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Following investigations, Sterling was arrested by the Golden Grove Police. Three other men were yesterday being sought by the police in connection with the incident.
Couple shot in Spanish Town, one dead
A woman was shot dead and her common-law husband shot and injured at New Nursery, Twickenham Park, Spanish Town, St Catherine, Friday morning.
Pauline Smith, 38, otherwise called “Sandra” of New Nursery, was killed, while her injured 36 year-old common-law husband was admitted to hospital.
The name of the injured man was not released by the police.
Smith and her common-law husband, the police said, were at home when gunmen kicked open the door to their house. The armed men then opened fire, hitting the couple several times. Smith was pronounced dead at hospital and her common-law husband admitted in serious condition.
