Presley Bingham nabbed for extradition
WESTERN BUREAU – The Fugitive Apprehension Team from Kingston, backed by Operation Kingfish and Drug Enforcement Agency agents, have nabbed another St James man whom the United States government wants extradited for drug running.
Presley Bingham, 41, also known as ‘Pressa’ from Lilliput, was held in Reading during a special operation Thursday.
Bingham is the 10th man to be held for extradition hearings since last year.
In March last year, narcotics agents arrested Leebert Ramcharan and Donovan ‘Plucky’ Williams. Weeks later, Robroy ‘Spy’ Williams, 47, farmer and owner of the sound system Jah Creation, and car wash operator Vivian ‘Jungle’ Dally, 46, both of West Gate Hills, were arrested.
Ramcharan and Donovan Williams were ordered extradited to the US to face drug trafficking charges, but both are appealing the ruling.
Six other men – Norris ‘Dedo’ Nembhard; Dalley, a car wash operator; police corporal Herbert ‘Scarry’ Henry; ‘Spy’ Williams, owner of the Jah Creation sound system; Glenford Williams; and Colombian national Lois Arias – are before the courts, fighting extradition.
They are accused by drug enforcement agents in Tampa, Florida of conspiring to import over five kilogrammes of cocaine and over 1,000 kilogrammes of marijuana into the United States or a distance 12 miles off the US coast.
