Cop among three men killed
Police reported three more murders yesterday, among them a policeman who was shot dead on Molynes Road, Kingston 10 just before dawn.
The Constabulary Communication Network reported that Constable Andrew Anthony Pryce, who worked in the constabulary’s Personnel Division, was shot at about 4:30 am as he was about to enter his car.
Pryce, whose firearm the police believe was taken by his killer(s), was the fifth cop to be murdered in Kingston in just over two weeks.
The others were:
. Constable Desmond Douglas – shot by gunmen in Seivwright Gardens on May 12;
. Corporal Hewitt Chandler – shot by gunmen on the night of May 3 at the intersection of West King’s House and Waterloo roads;
. District Constable Canute Brown – shot in an attack on the Cross Roads Police Station on May 4, a few hours after Chandler’s killing; and
. Inspector Lascelles Walsh – shot by gunmen at a traffic light on Port Royal Street, downtown, just over two hours after the attack on the Cross Roads station.
Up to last night, police had not yet identified the other murder victims found Saturday night.
One of the victims was found on the Galloway main road in Westmoreland at about 11:30 pm by residents. The body, the police said, had multiple wounds, was of dark complexion, slim built, about 170 centimetres (5ft 7in) tall and was clad in green camouflage shirt, pale blue jeans pants and a pair of blue and white sneakers.
The other body was found with gunshot wounds at White Wing Avenue in Kingston 11 and is of dark complexion, medium built, 167 centimetres (5 ft 6in) tall and was clad in a black T-shirt, blue jeans pants and a green merino.
