Man shot dead in Delacree Park
MARCUS Reid, 37, also known as “Crima” of Tavares Gardens was shot dead by unknown assailant/s at Easington Square, Delacree Park, Kingston 11 Saturday afternoon.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN), the police’s information arm, said that at about 2:20 pm residents heard explosions and alerted the police. Reid’s body was seen with multiple gunshot wounds. It was removed to the morgue for post mortem.
. Another in Ensom City
LLOYD Simmonds, a 48 year-old gardener of Gordon Pen, Spanish Town, St Catherine was shot and killed by gunmen on Delido Crescent, Ensom City in the old capital on Saturday.
According to the CCN, at about 12:00 noon Simmonds was working at Delido Crescent when he was attacked by a group of gunmen. The men immediately opened fire, hitting him several times. He died on the spot.
Body found on bank of canal
THE body of an unidentified man, believed to be in the mid-40s, was found on a canal bank in Eltham Park, St Catherine Saturday morning.
The body, which has a cross and the word “Bradda” tattooed on the upper left arm, is of dark complexion, about 175.26 (5ft 9ins) and was clad in a white guernsey and black jeans pants.
The CCN said a passerby saw the body about 7:00 am and alerted the police. Examination by investigators revealed that the body had what appeared to be stab and gunshot wounds.
Building contractor shot dead
ERROL Granston, 45, a building contractor of Green Pond, St James was shot and killed by a gunman at Anchovy in the parish on Saturday.
The police said that at about 6:50 pm, Granston was at a bar in Lethe Crossing, Anchovy when he was shot by a gunman. The gunman made his escape in a waiting motor car.
Granston was taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Robot taxi operator found dead, car stolen
THE body of a robot taxi operator was found with multiple stab wounds at Redwood district in Linstead, St Catherine on Saturday.
The dead man has been identified as 58 year-old Harold Morgan of Duhaney Park, Kingston 20.
The police reported that at about 2:10 pm a passer-by saw the body and alerted the police. Examination of the body by investigators revealed that Morgan had been stabbed to death.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Morgan, who had been chartered by a group of persons, was robbed of an undetermined sum of money and stabbed to death. His grey Toyota Corolla motor car, registered 5349 DU, was taken by his killers.
