Two charged with woman’s murder
NEGRIL, Westmoreland – Two men will face the Savanna-la-Mar Resident Magistrate’s Court today on charges of murder in the death of 52-year-old businesswoman Sandra McLeod whose body was discovered earlier this month in a hotel in Negril.
Michael Grandison, operator of Merrils hotel, and the resort’s property manager Peter Bandoo, both 41 years old, were charged with the crime on the weekend.
At the time of her death police believed that McLeod, who lived in Spring Gardens, a top residential neighbourhood in the suburbs of Montego Bay, might have been strangled.
McLeod, owner of the Merril’s Hotel in Negril, had gone to the property on Sunday, June 5, for a meeting. The hotel is operated under lease by Grandison.
McLeod was discovered at 5:30 pm in the computer room, lying on her back, with an electrical cord tied around her neck.
