Accused in murder of L G Brown, Sandra Campbell remanded
PETER Dugal, the man who police said was involved in the double murder of gas station owner and immediate past president of the Jamaica Gasoline Retailers Association, L G Brown and his companion, was remanded in custody when he appeared in the Gun Court section of the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
Brown and Dugal were shot dead in June at Campbell’s residence at Stillwell Road in St Andrew.
Dugal was arrested after he was shot and injured during an alleged shoot-out with members of Operation Kingfish at a house at Grafton Road in Vineyard Town, Kingston on June 5. Police raided the house hours after the couple was discovered shot to death on the upper floor of Campbell’s house. The killers gained access to the house after using a ladder to gain entry to the one-storey house.
A photograph of Brown and his licensed 9mm pistol were found in the house at Grafton Road, the police reported.
Dugal is facing two murder charges and one charge of illegal possession of a firearm. He is represented by attorney Arthur Kitchin and will be brought back to court next Wednesday.
