Police co-op awards 50 bursaries
MONTEGO BAY, St James – The Jamaica Police Cooperative Credit Union, as a mark of its 50th anniversary celebrations, has awarded 50 bursaries and scholarships to the children of its members who were successful in their high school entry examinations.
The final presentation was in Montego Bay on August 12, at the credit union’s Gloucester Avenue office, where cheques for 10 bursaries and one scholarship were presented to the beneficiaries.
The bursaries are valued at $7,000 each while the scholarship is valued at $10,000 annually for a period of five years.
Police inspector Melvin Dennis congratulated the recipients for demonstrating academic achievement that has made them deserving of the awards, and urged them to always strive for high goals.
