THREE people were killed and nine injured in a vehicular collision on Waltham Park Road, Kingston 11 yesterday morning.

The dead were identified as:

. Devon Smith, 55, of Relay Road, Hughenden, Kingston 20;

. Leon Stephens, 36, of Bald Pate Avenue, Kingston 11; and

. Weston Wilson, 42, of Maverley, Kingston 20. The names of the injured were not released.

The Constabulary Communication Network reported that at about 12:45 am, a Toyota Hiace bus, registered 8611 DX, carrying Airlift Handlers staff was travelling along Waltham Park Road when it was involved in a collision with a Toyota Townace, registered 0136 DM.

Twelve persons in both vehicles sustained injuries, three from the Toyota Hiace died on the spot. The others were taken to the Kingston Public Hospital for treatment.

The Hunts Bay Police, who are investigating, said that the driver of the Toyota Townace, Nicola Dwyer of Phillip Road, Kingston 11, fled the scene and was being sought for questioning.
