Police investigating triple murder at Little Kew Road
RELATIVES of Orlando “Sando” Thompson residing in the United Kingdom, will not be receiving a visit from him next month.
Thompson, who was in his early 20s, was one of three men murdered on Little Kew Road on Sunday night.
Up to yesterday, the other two victims – who were also said to be in their 20s – were identified only as ‘Miguel’ and ‘Omar’.
Three people were also injured in the same shooting incident which the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) said occurred at about 10 pm.
According to the police, Thompson, ‘Miguel’ and ‘Omar’ were among a group of men sitting on a bridge at Little Kew Road, when gunmen approached the group and opened fired.
Thompson, ‘Miguel’ and ‘Omar died on the spot, while three of their companions were injured and taken to hospital for treatment.
Yesterday, a distraught relative of Thompson said he was an affable character, who got along well with people.
“Him always a give joke. Wi nuh understand his death,” said one of his cousins, who did not wish to be named. “We hear seh him get a call from a friend to go down there (Little Kew Road),” she added.
Other family members told the Observer that when they arrived at the crime scene, they found Thompson lying face down in a tyre. His mother was too distraught to speak, yesterday, and his sister tightly hugged herself as she wept quietly.
Thompson, who resided in the Maxfield Avenue area, was unemployed. His family said he had planned to visit his relatives in the UK in December.
Residents refused to talk about the shooting.
“Dem nuh come from down yah” and “We cyaan seh nutten,” a resident said, as he hurried away.
