CPTC gets new CEO
ANGELA Patterson, the former general manager of CVM Television has been appointed chief executive officer of the Creative Production and Training Centre (CPTC), the institution announced last Wednesday.
She succeeds Dr Hopeton Dunn, who will remain chairman of the board.
The former CVM general manager has had a long career in media and information technology marketing. She is a former member of the boards of the Caribbean Broadcasting Union (CBU) and the Caribbean Media Corporation(CMC). She also served as director of marketing at the Jamaica Broadcasting Corporation (JBC) and member of the National Steering Committee for Values and Attitudes in Jamaica.
Her career also spanned the Jamaica National Building Society, Fujitsu ICL Caribbean (Jamaica) Limited, NCR Jamaica Limited, and Rank Xerox UK where she held executive positions.
Her most recent engagements involved consultant work with Nationwide News Network and PRO Communications Limited.
Commenting on her appointment, Dr Dunn said Patterson brings to CPTC a wealth of knowledge, having served at the top levels of media in both the private and public sectors.
He said it was the view of the board that her career reflected the professional expertise and public-spirited commitment needed to fulfil the mandate and goals of the CPTC.
Patterson is expected to take up her new post on January 9.
