Police probing stolen car ring
ONE man has detained for questioning at the Constant Spring Police Station following the discovery of five stolen motor vehicles at the Hermitage Dam Road in Stony Hill, St Andrew.
The five motor vehicles including two Hondas – a CRV and an Accord – two Toyota Corollas and a Toyota Camry were found at approximately 1: 30 pm last Friday at an abandoned house.
“The thieves hid the cars in a shed,” said Constable Lee of the Stony Hill Police Station. Lee said that the cars were not damaged, however, the registration numbers were erased and the licence plates removed.
“The Stony Hill and Constant Spring police carried out a combined operation to clamp down on the operators of this car ring,” Lee told the Sunday Observer.

“We will be checking with the relevant authorities as well as with our own forensic experts to assertain ownership of the other one,” said Detective Corporal Bryan. He said too, that, the vehicles were stolen from a number of places including Ironshore, Montego Bay.
Bryan said that no arrests have been made but investigations will continue. He also plans to this year, intensify the charge of searching for stolen vehicles.
