Kingston man shot dead
KENNETH Ellis, 47, of Phase 1, Seaview Gardens, Kingston 11 was yesterday morning shot dead by unknown assailant/s on Spanish Town Road, Kingston.
Reports from the CCN’s Metro Officer are that at about 3:35 am, Ellis was riding his bicycle along Spanish Town Road when explosions were heard. Ellis’s body was subsequently found with bullet wounds. The police were summoned, and the body removed to the morgue.
The Hunts Bay Homicide Unit is said to be investigating the murder.
Teen reported missing
KEIONA Chambers, 14, of Spring Ground, Manchester, has been missing from home since Sunday, January 22.
Reports from the CCN’s Liaison Officer for Manchester are that at about 7:00 am on Sunday, Keiona left home for an undisclosed location. After she failed to return home, her family reported her missing.
She is of dark complexion, slim built, about 170 centimetres, and has a scar over the right eye.
Anyone with information is being asked to contact the Spalding Police at 987-8059, 119 or the nearest police station.
Missing cop
A 26-year-old policeman stationed at the Hannah Town Police Station has been reported missing since Friday, January 27.
Constable Clayton Salmon, also known as “Chris” and “Sammo”, of Johnson Pen, St Catherine reportedly left home at about 11:00 pm on Friday for an undisclosed destination, and has not been in touch with his family or friends since.
He is of black complexion, medium built, and about 190 centimetres (5ft 8in) tall.
The CCN’s Metro Officer said that at the time Salmon went missing, he was wearing a blue jeans jacket, with a red and white guernsey marked “Chris” on the back, navy blue jeans and a pair of white sneakers.
Anyone knowing his whereabouts is being asked to contact the Hannah Town Police at 922-2641, 119 or the nearest police station.
Fire destroys shop
FIRE on Saturday destroyed a board shop at Forest district, Hanover.
The building was not insured.
The cause of the fire could not immediately be determind, but loss is estimated at $800,000.
The CCN’s liaison officer for the parish said that at about 3:45 am residents said they saw fire coming from a section of the shop. The blaze spread quickly and engulfed the building, the police said.
A unit from the Montego Bay Fire Department extinguished the blaze.
The Ramble police are said to be investigating.
29-year-old man shot dead
CALVIN Bramwell, 29, was on Saturday shot and killed by unknown assailant/s on Grenmeade Road, Maverley, Kingston 20.
Reports from the CCN’s Metro Officer are that at about 6:15 pm residents heard explosions and alerted the police. Investigators who went to the scene found Bramwell, otherwise called “Junior”, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) where he died while undergoing treatment.
The Duhaney Park police are said to be investigating.
