Three dead, six injured in Clarendon motor vehicle accident
SIX people were injured, three fatally, in a motor vehicle collision on the Dawkins main road in Clarendon Saturday night.
The dead were identified as:
. Errol Anderson, otherwise called ‘Crampy’, 43, of Hayes;
. Shanique Woodburn, 21, of Lionel Town; and
. Osborne James, 25, of Longwood.
Injured are:
. Patrick Masters, 41, of Hayes;
. Mark Morgan, 26 of Lionel Town; and
. Mohammed Islam, 56, also of Lionel Town, all in Clarendon.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) liaison officer for Clarendon reported that at about 10:45 pm Saturday, Woodburn, James, Masters and Morgan were passengers in a Toyota Corolla motor car, driven by Anderson, when it collided with a Volvo motor car driven by Mohammed along the Dawkins main road.
All six people, the CCN said, sustained injuries and were taken to hospital where Anderson, Woodburn and James were pronounced dead and the others admitted.
Meanwhile, Gregory Samuels died as a result of injuries he sustained when he was hit by a motor car along the Retreat main road in Little London, Westmoreland.
Samuels, 30, resided at Broughton district in the parish.
The CCN liaison officer for Westmoreland reported that about 2:15 am Saturday, Samuels was walking along the road when he was hit by a Toyota Mark II motor car. He sustained injuries and was taken to the Savanna-la-Mar Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
