Boy, 14, on gun rap
A 14 year-old school boy was arrested Wednesday at a school in St Ann and charged with breaches of the Firearms Act.
According to the Constabulary Communication Network (CCN), police personnel were on the school compound when the student was seen fidgeting unnecessarily. He was accosted, and when searched a homemade gun with a 9mm cartridge was found in his possession. He was arrested and charged and is scheduled to appear in the St Ann’s Bay Juvenile Court on Monday.

A man was arrested for breaching the Firearms Act, following the seizure of a gun at Lacy Road, Kingston 16 Wednesday.
Charged with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition is 19 year-old Akeime McDermot, otherwise called “Froggy” of Fernandez Road, Kingston 16.
The CCN’s metro officer reported that at about 11:30 am, McDermot was seen by a police patrol acting in a suspicious manner on Lacy Road.
He was searched and a Glock 17 Pistol, serial # CHG555, and 36 cartridges were found in his possession. He is scheduled to appear in the Corporate Area Criminal Court next Friday.
Boy falls from bicycle, dies
A teenager was pronounced dead at hospital after he fell from his bicycle in Bath district, St Thomas on Wednesday.
He has been identified as Horace Ferril, 15, of Wheelers Field district in the parish.
The CCN’s St Thomas liaison officer reported that at about 7:00 pm young Ferril was riding his bicycle along the Bath Foundation main road, which runs alongside the Sulpher River, when he lost control of the cycle and fell into the river. He sustained injuries and was taken to the Princess Margaret Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Two old men missing from St Elizabeth
TWO elderly men have been reported missing from their homes in St Elizabeth and Manchester since November last year.
They are 83 year-old Hezekiah Anderson, otherwise called “Pa-Pa” of Mount Pelier, Manchester, and Horace Elliot, 64, of Ballards Valley, St Elizabeth.
Anderson is of dark complexion, slim build and about 172.72 centimetres (5 ft 8 ins) tall.
The CCN said that at about 9:00 am on Monday, November 28, Anderson left home for an undisclosed location. He has not been seen or heard from since. At the time he went missing, he was clad in a white striped shirt, black pants and a pair of black slippers.
Elliot reportedly went missing about 7:00 am on December 24, 2005. He has not contacted his relatives since. He is of brown complexion, slim build, about 157 centimetres (5ft 2 ins) tall and was dressed in khaki pants, plaid shirt and a pair of brown shoes.
