Man shot dead, woman injured in Braeton
ONE man was shot and killed and his female companion seriously injured Tuesday night, while walking along the Braeton main road in Portmore, St Catherine.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN), the police’s information arm, reported that Nehemiah Hall, 28, and a 19-year-old woman were walking along the usually busy road at about 8:00 pm when they were approached by a man armed with a gun in the vicinity of the Marine Park Housing Scheme.
The man, the police said, opened fire, hitting the two. Both were taken to hospital where Hall was pronounced dead and the injured woman admitted in serious condition.
The police could not say what the motive for the murder of Hall – who lived in May Pen, the Clarendon capital- was.
Residents of Braeton suggested that the police have more patrols in the area, especially at nearby Naggo Head, which they said is not safe at nights.
“.It is getting bad around here, especially the idle boys are looking for trouble,” said a resident of Braeton Phase 2.
